Oh, what a fun session!! Lifestyle family sessions with busy littles, lots of giggles and sweet snuggles are my favorite! These cozy studio sessions are a little dose of the comfortable connection of the every day kind of moments you share, full of authentic love and so much joy. The best part of studio sessions for parents is capturing memories like this with this kind of cozy feel without having to clean your house for a family portrait session! Win, win!!
One of my favorite parts about these family sessions is asking the mamas specific things they want to remember about each of their kids at this age to pair with the images from their portrait sessions.
This sweet mama wants to remember Katie's beautiful competitive spirit and how caring she is toward her little brothers as an amazing big sister, how creative Owen is when building and designing magnet tiles and his deep affection for those he loves with his constant kisses, and Milo's sweet dimpled smile and how he says "I love you" in his little toddler voice that comes out more like "I wa-wee!" Despite the chaos and messes and noise that come with everyday life with this crew, Mandy wants to remember all the joy and love this season holds because these really are "the good ol' days."
While I can't actually freeze time, my hope with these lifestyle family sessions is to bottle up the little moments that together make up a taste of the season you are in right now as a family. You know, the way he fits so well in your arms right now with his head snuggled on your shoulder, or the way she looks up at you with admiration and pure innocent love, or the way their little feet don't reach the floor when you sit on the couch together...the little things that capture pieces of your life right now that you know all too well will change in the next season as they grow up before your very eyes. As you move on to new exciting seasons together when you find yourself standing next to him looking at him eye to eye instead of carrying him on your hip, or when she asks for the car keys to meet up with friends instead of playing with toys in the floor, or when he chooses a fist bump over a hug, I pray you look back at these photographs of past seasons together and find yourself flooded with memories of the weight of his little body in your arms and sound of the sweet little giggles that filled your days and the feeling of little arms that reached around your neck for the sweetest hugs and be so full of love and gratitude for the life you are making together and the hard work it took to care for these little people through each season. Remember mama, they are the only ones growing and changing with each new season, you too are growing and changing, becoming stronger and more resilient while also softening, gaining perspective and growing in wisdom and love with every step you take and memory you make. What a beautiful life this is together!
